The Whitworth Centre & Park

WEDDINGS AT THE WHITWORTH CENTRE

The Whitworth which opened in 1890 is full of character and combined with the beautiful park provides a lovely back drop for your day.  The Whitworth is made up of two large function rooms with the capacity to accommodate 180 guests, with four smaller rooms for you to choose from and use as you wish. We also have a civil ceremony license allowing you to just simply enjoy your whole day in one place. Whatever your choice, our wedding coordinator will be on hand to help you with as much or as little as you require. From initial viewing and booking to on the day management and everything in between. We pride ourselves in working closely with you to help create your perfect day.

Ceremony:

With 4 different ceremony rooms to choose from, we can cater from as few guests as you like up to around 180. Our Gallery and Brunel rooms are both modern in style providing a perfect timeless setting, and our magnificent Ballroom and oak panelled Library both offer an elegant and classical background in which to hold your special day.

Drinks Reception:

​Why not choose one of our beautiful rooms or use the outside Terrace to host your celebratory drinks. Your guests can celebrate in style while you take advantage of our fabulous landscaped park for your wedding photographs.

​We can provide canapes or nibbles along with a full drinks service.

Wedding Reception:

​We can offer the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast, providing a smooth transition for your guests from either your ceremony or drinks reception. We will provide you with our fully licensed bar, iced water for your tables along with all your glassware, table linens and chair covers with your choice of coloured organza sash. We can offer a tailor-made menu to suit your requirements, from a traditional 3 course sit down meal through to canapes, buffets, individual picnic baskets, hog roasts and barbecues. Whatever your needs, we are sure you will find what you are looking for.

Evening Reception: 

To end your special day, we can provide space for dancing and a stage for singers, bands or DJs so you can celebrate in style. Organise your own or speak with our Wedding Coordinators who can offer recommendations to suit.

​We are also able to provide a number of locally produced ales to add to our fully stocked licensed bar. Whatever you are looking for, we are positive we can help you with your plans.

All menu options are locally sourced, cooked and prepared on site, by our chefs & cooks.
 
£19.95 per person for a 2-course wedding breakfast, £10. 95 per child under 10 and no charge for children under 2 years.
 
£23.95 per person for a 3-course wedding breakfast, £14.95 per child under 10 and no charge for children under 2 years.
 
Buffet options starting from £7.95 per person
 
Hog roast or BBQ from £10.50 per person (hog roast available for 100 plus guests)
£100 for caretakers if you would like to use their services for putting up decorations or lights that you provide.
 
We can provide drinks for reception or toasts from £3.95 per person, dependent on your requirements.
You can tailor your requirements from ceremony through to reception utilizing any combination of our suites, the price includes all furniture to accommodate your guests, dressing of the tables and chairs and organza sash of your colour choice. Draught bar only available in the Ballroom suite.  

The Brunel 
The former Victorian swimming baths, now a large suite which retains period character, suitable for larger gatherings of up to one hundred and sixty guests for ceremony and one hundred forty for reception.

A mid-sized suite boasting high ceilings with original beams, perfect for gatherings of up to forty guests for ceremony and/or reception.

The Gallery
Combining old and new, this suite features a floor to ceiling window overlooking the park and can accommodate parties of up to sixty guests for ceremony and forty for reception.

The Old Library 
Intimate, elegant and steeped in history. This suite is available to you for ceremony and reception for smaller gatherings of up to thirty guests for ceremony and twenty for reception.

The Ballroom
The jewel in the crown, this opulent self-contained suite boasts a stunning vaulted ceiling with chandeliers, balcony which overlooks the main room period windows and sumptuous drapes and stage area is available for ceremony and/or wedding breakfast and/or evening reception for up to one hundred and twenty guests for reception.
