Save The Date

The Beginning

The brainchild of Lydia & Abbi, Save the Date magazine began in a very small spare bedroom back in the summer of 2009.

Working together at the largest event management company in the UK, we would car share to and from work dreaming of one day running our own business … In the midst of organising my own wedding at that time (Lydia), I recognised a gap in the market for a stylish, inspiring piece of local wedding inspiration and so, during the recession (we don’t like to make things easy for ourselves) we decided to leave the day job and go it alone … Save the Date was born.

The Middle

Having evolved over the years, Save the Date Magazine went from strength to strength. It quickly became renowned as the place to go to for wedding inspiration in the East Midlands. Brides to be would sit reading our magazine, we would receive emails from brides saying they don’t know what they’d have done without us during their wedding planning and wedding suppliers just got better and better – the quality and standard of the people we work with is quite simply, amazing.

Our Wedding Event with a Difference was born and was a huge triumph. It gave us a few grey hairs and sleepless nights but the first #WEWAD (as it’s affectionally referred to) launched in February 2011 and we loved it. Having organised and delivered over ten WEWAD events now, we feel we know what we’re doing. It helps that we work with an abundance of incredibly creative wedding suppliers who are the best in the business and help make our events look good (but don’t tell anyone we said that). Over 1,600 visitors came through the doors at our last Wedding Event with a Difference and numbers grow each time – it makes all the hard work worthwhile to see a flock of happy brides and grooms to be queuing at the doors when we open – job satisfaction right there.
