The Riding School Calke Abbey

Honeysuckle and Castle are delighted to offer The Riding School at Calke Abbey, exclusively for your wedding day.

This no corkage charge wedding venue is a rustic blank canvas full of charm. Steeped in history dating back to the 18th century, it’s hard not to be impressed by the baroque exterior as you approach from the driveway.

Set amongst over 600 acres of stunning Derbyshire parkland, the deer and sheep roam free, and you’ll find lots of hidden nooks amongst the estate; it really is a wedding photographers dream!

Inside the Riding School, high set windows bring the daylight in, and soft white drapes create an inviting space and more intimate areas for your guests to enjoy. With gorgeous exposed brickwork, antique characteristics and an old rowing boat resting in the large oak beams, The Riding School is without a doubt the perfect backdrop to your big day.

The Riding School is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships of up to 160 guests, meaning you can invite all of your friends and family along to see you say ‘I Do!’

Whether you’re celebrating with a full day at Calke Abbey or moving on to a reception elsewhere, a dedicated member of the Honeysuckle & Castle team will be on hand throughout the planning process, as well as during your special day to help make it a magical and memorable experience.

Invite your loved ones to enjoy a wedding feast prepared by Black Peppermint Food Company. Menu choices range from a formal three-course dinner to a relaxed ‘sharing style’ main course, and the team will ensure to meet all of your needs.

Guests can be seated on either round tables seating up to 12 people per table, or on longer banquet tables for up to 24 per row – the choice is yours. And whilst you’re enjoying your Wedding Breakfast and speeches, our team will be busy transforming the other half of the Riding School into the ultimate dance floor for you to dance the night away.
